Weekend Preview

Rampage looks to beat the stuffing out of A Quiet Place this weekend, with BlumHouse’s Truth or Dare taking third.

1. Rampage $36 million – the Rock is back in a big way as he and his giant ape George try and stop a flying wolf and mutant crocodile from destroying the world.  Based on the classic video, Rampage has been unfortunately panned by critics (48 RT score), but with a built-in Dwayne Johnson audience, people will come this weekend.  All that being said, I believe the road ahead for Rampage will be full of potholes.  Look for a final of $80 million.

2. A Quiet Place $29 million – more of a thriller than a horror pick, it will be very close to passing $100 million by the end of the weekend.

3. Truth or Dare $15 million – supposedly its just awful, so its got that going for it.  Should finish around $32 million.

4. Ready Player One $13.5 million – having just passed $100 million, this one looks good for a $150 million total.

5. Blockers $11 million – still on pace for a $60-70 million final.

6. Isle of Dogs $6.5 million – barking its way to $30 million.

7. Black Panther $5.5 million - $680 million is now assured.

8. I Can Only Imagine $5 million – it’s going to end as a top 35 million for the year!

9. Acrimony $4 million – north of $40 million is a nice result for this.

10. Sherlock Gnomes $3.5 million – this too.
