Weekend Preview

by The Commish on Thursday, December 28, 2017

The last weekend of 2017 should provide huge results at the box office.  Look for Star Wars to keep the top spot with Jumanji and Pitch Perfect 3 to round out the podium.

1. The Last Jedi $56 million – it will pass Rogue One this weekend, but we are still projecting it to all short of $700 million.

2. Jumanji $40 million – north of $160 million after its second weekend, a pretty excellent result that we didn’t see coming.

3. Pitch Perfect 3 $16 million – still might be able to crawl to $90 million.

4. The Greatest Showman $10 million – this weekend will show whether it has the legs to do some serious damage in the weeks ahead.

5. Ferdinand $7 million – will finish its run around $75 million.

6. Coco $6.5 million – will be within striking distance of $200 million, I just don’t think it will make it.

7. All the Money in the World $6 million – strange having its opening weekend 5 days after it opens.

8. Downsizing $6 million – this could be a slow burn, but it still won’t be at $20 million after this weekend.

9. The Darkest Hour $5 million – if you are looking for a dark horse award contender that is not owned in many leagues, look no further.

10. The Shape of Water $3.5 million
